There’s much to say about Japan and its ancient culture which has left many traces in the form of remarkable temples, arts and crafts, customs, traditions and an excellent cuisine. Traveling through the country has been a true delight. I’ve left each city or village with a pleasant feeling. However, I must admit that I found Miyajima – a small island located in front of Hiroshima – to be one of my favorite places I’ve visited in Japan!

Sicily is a gorgeous destination you should definitely have on your travel list. This beautiful island located in southern Italy will conquer your heart once you taste its food, discover its landscapes and history and meet the warm Sicilian people. Our first visit to Sicily in 2010 resulted in an overwhelming trip to the west coast. We started our itinerary in Trapani, a port town with a nice historical city center built in baroque style. We received a great tip from our B&B hosts to visit one of the most romantic places on earth: the neighboring medieval town Erice which is situated on a mountain, overlooking the sea and has no less than 14 churches and a stunning castle. Opposite to Trapani lies the largest of the Egadi Islands: Favigana. You can travel by boat and it’s fantastic for people who love nature, cycling and eating fresh (tuna) fish!
Palermo, the capital of Sicily is quite a rough and chaotic city yet it’s worth to explore its historical buildings and experience the vivid streets. Palermo lies in between two stunning little fishermen towns that I absolutely loved to visit! Catellamare del Golfo (left from Palermo) has one of the most breathtaking views on the shore, colorful boats and mountains. Right from Palermo lies Cefalù, another fisherman town with a beautiful cathedral, charming streets and tasty restaurants. Sicily simply has it all…
Travel video – Ibiza, Spain
Think of an island full of joy, great food, fantastic views, beautiful beaches and the coolest parties in the world and you’ll know that can only be Ibiza. We recently visited this breathtaking island in October, just one week after the closing parties. Some people would think I’m nuts by missing all the disco & glamour. However, I very consciously booked my flight to one of the Balearic Islands since I know I’m not the biggest party animal in the world. My idea was to discover Ibiza’s stunning landscapes and enjoy the warm sun before winter would announce itself in Northern Europe, which is always sooner than at our southern friends. For those who want to avoid the hectic months of Ibiza during summer, I can definitely recommend you to book a flight off season when prices are lower (great hotel deals) and the beaches are practically empty.
Ibiza has more to offer than just parties and booze… Experience it yourself while watching this great video produced by Orange Spots’ movie director Geerard Siereveld.

When travelling to a country like Vietnam, a visit to a beautiful beach is a must on your itinerary. So we booked our tickets at Vietnam Airlines from HCMC to Phu Quoc and soon we landed on this gorgeous tropical island. Upon our arrival at Mai House Resort we were welcomed with a fresh watermelon juice. We happily cheered on a well deserved vacation in Phu Quoc island where we would stay for three days.
